Many of my landscapes start with elements extracted from a panorama or other source photo - often things seen in the background or unrelated or accidental inclusions.

Essentially, the paintings are explorations of things that are often too ordinary to be given much attention and to raise questions about their significance - surfaces, stones on the ground, shadows, a hedge or other boundary, etc.
